Configuring Association Between CFM Modules

Context

For details on the principle and usage scenarios of association between CFM modules, see Fault Information Advertisement Between CFM and Other Modules.

Association between CFM modules is bidirectional. CFM modules notify each other of faults.

You must perform operations on both CFM-enabled devices of a link.

Pre-configuration Tasks

Before configuring association between CFM modules, perform the task of Configuring Basic Ethernet CFM Functions.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run oam-mgr

    The OAM management view is displayed.

  3. Configure unidirectional or bidirectional transmission of fault information between CFM modules. Choose a configuration solution according to usage scenarios.

    Faults need to be transmitted bidirectionally between CFM modules.

    • Configuration Solution 1

      Run the oam-bind cfm md ma cfm md ma command to configure CFM modules to report faults to each other.
      NOTE:

      If the oam-bind cfm md ma cfm md ma command is used, two commands of oam-bind ingress cfm md ma egress cfm md ma in opposite directions will be displayed in the configuration file.

    • Configuration Solution 2

      Use the following commands:
      • Run the oam-bind ingress cfm md ma egress cfm md ma command to configure CFM for the link at one side of the device to report faults to CFM for the link at the other side of the device. ingress md md-name1 and ma ma-name1 specify the MD name and MA name of a link at one side of the device respectively. egress md md-name2 and ma ma-name2 specify the MD name and MA name of a link at the other side of the device respectively.

      • Run the oam-bind ingress cfm md ma egress cfm md ma command to configure CFM for the link at one side of the device to report faults to CFM for the link at the other side of the device. ingress md md-name1 and ma ma-name1 specify the MD name and MA name of a link at one side of the device respectively. egress md md-name2 and ma ma-name2 specify the MD name and MA name of a link at the other side of the device respectively.

    Faults need to be transmitted unidirectionally between CFM modules.

    Choose either of the following commands based on the transmission direction:

    • Run the oam-bind ingress cfm md ma egress cfm md ma command to configure CFM for the link at one side of the device to report faults to CFM for the link at the other side of the device. ingress md md-name1 and ma ma-name1 specify the MD name and MA name of a link at one side of the device respectively. egress md md-name2 and ma ma-name2 specify the MD name and MA name of a link at the other side of the device respectively.

    • Run the oam-bind ingress cfm md ma egress cfm md ma command to configure CFM for the link at one side of the device to report faults to CFM for the link at the other side of the device. ingress md md-name1 and ma ma-name1 specify the MD name and MA name of a link at one side of the device respectively. egress md md-name2 and ma ma-name2 specify the MD name and MA name of a link at the other side of the device respectively.
