Preventing Cleared Alarms from Being Reported Repeatedly

Preventing Cleared Alarms from Being Reported Repeatedly

Context

After the clear alarm active command or MIB table hwAlarmActiveTable is used to manually clear active alarms, these active alarms are reported repeatedly when being generated again. To prevent the number of repeatedly reported active alarms, prevent manually cleared active alarms from being reported repeatedly before their clear alarms are reported.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run alarm

    The alarm management view is displayed.

  3. Run mask manual-clear alarm

    Manually cleared active alarms are not reported repeatedly.

    By default, active alarms are reported repeatedly after being manually cleared.

Follow-up Procedure

  1. Run clear alarm active { all | sequence-number sequence-number }

    Active alarms are cleared.

    After active alarms are cleared, these active alarms are not reported repeatedly before their clear alarms are reported.

  2. Run display alarm manual-clear

    Active alarms that are not reported repeatedly are displayed.

  3. (Optional) Run clear alarm manual-clear { all | sequence-number sequence-number }

    Active alarms that are not reported repeatedly are cleared so that corresponding active alarms can be reported again.
