Setting an OSPF Packet Retransmission Limit

Setting an OSPF Packet Retransmission Limit

Context

After an OSPF switch sends DD, LSU, or LSR packets but does not receive any LSAck packet from a neighbor within a specified time, the switch retransmits the packets. If the number of packet retransmissions reaches a specified limit, the switch tears down the adjacency relationship with the neighbor.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run ospf [ process-id ]

The OSPF process view is displayed.

  3. Run retransmission-limit [ max-number ]

An OSPF packet retransmission limit is set.

By default, no OSPF packet retransmission limit is set. If an OSPF packet retransmission limit is set, the default value of max-number is 30.
