(Optional) Configuring Routes

(Optional) Configuring Routes

Routes must be configured if OceanStor Dorado V3 and the backup storage are on different network segments.

Prerequisites

You have configured an IP address for the Ethernet port.

Procedure

  1. Click System.
  2. Locate the Ethernet port for which you want to configure routes.

    • If the Ethernet port is on a SmartIO interface module:
      • In the navigation tree on the left, select the desired controller enclosure and controller, and click 4-port SmartIO I/O Module to locate the interface module.
      • Click the Ethernet Port tab in the lower pane.
      • Find the Ethernet port in the list.
    • If the Ethernet port is on a 10GE electrical interface module:
      • In the navigation tree on the left, select the desired controller enclosure and controller, and click 4x10GE Electrical Interface Module to locate the interface module.
      • Find the Ethernet port in the list.
    NOTE:

You can also click to switch to the rear view of the controller enclosure and find the desired Ethernet port.

  3. Select the Ethernet port and click Route Management.

The Route Management dialog box is displayed.

  4. Configure the route information for the Ethernet port.

    1. In the IP Address drop-down list, select the IP address of the Ethernet port.
    2. Click Add.

    Table 2-4 Route parameters

    Parameter

    Description

    Type

Three types of routes are available:

    • Default route

A route through which data is forwarded by default if no preferred route is available. The destination address and mask (IPv4) of the default route are automatically set to 0. To use this option, you only need to add a gateway.

    • Host route

A route to a host. The destination mask (IPv4) of the host route is automatically set to 255.255.255.255. To use this option, you only need to add the destination address and gateway.

    • Network segment route

A route to a network segment. You need to add the destination address, destination mask (IPv4), and gateway.

    Destination Address

IPv4 address or network segment of the service network port on the backup storage.

    Destination Mask

Subnet mask of the IPv4 address for the service network port on backup storage.

    Gateway

Gateway for the local Ethernet port's IP address.

    NOTE:

The gateway must not be the same as the internal heartbeat IP addresses. Otherwise, routing will fail.

  5. Confirm the operation.

    1. Click OK.

A Danger dialog box is displayed.

    2. Confirm the information in the dialog box and select I have read and understand the consequences associated with performing this operation.
    3. Click OK.

A Success dialog box is displayed.

      NOTE:

To delete a route, select it and click Remove.

    4. Click Close.
