Compatible Backup Storage

Table 1-3 lists the backup storage devices supported by CloudBackup.

    OceanStor Dorado NAS unit cannot be used as the backup storage device.

  • CloudBackup only supports backup and restoration over IP links.
  • CloudBackup provides only crash-consistent backup for LUNs and LUN consistency groups.

    Crash-consistent backup means that data on the LUNs will be backed up, but data in the host memory will not. Data on all LUNs will be backed up at the same point in time, which is similar to the effect in the event of a power outage on the host.

  • Currently, offline data transmission can be implemented only by the Teleport device of the Data Express Service (DES) on HUAWEI CLOUD in China, and using the NFSv3 protocol only.
  • CloudBackup supports only the NFSv3 protocol when backing up data to the local NAS backup storage, and only the S3 protocol when backing up data to the cloud.
  • The SmartIO or Ethernet ports used to connect to the backup storage support only IPv4 addresses.
