Enabling Offline Transmission

Enabling Offline Transmission

After offline transmission is enabled, the Teleport device is the backup storage for subsequent backup tasks.

  • Offline Transmission for the backup plan is Disabled, and the backup plan has no backup image.
  • The Teleport device has been connected to the Dorado V3 storage system in the enterprise data center.
  • An offline storage unit has been added to the backup storage pool in the backup plan.

  • The Teleport device of the Data Express Service (DES) can be used to perform the first full backup to the cloud, which greatly reduces the backup time.
  • Regardless of whether offline transmission is enabled, the repository always records the amount of data to be stored on the S3 storage.
  • If offline transmission is enabled and has not been disabled (that is, the backup data has not been imported to the S3 storage), the backup data occupies the space of the offline storage unit and does not occupy the space of the S3 storage.

  1. Choose Data Protection > CloudBackup > Backup and Restoration > Backup Plan.
  2. Select the desired backup plan and choose More > Enable Offline Transmission.

The Execution Result dialog box is displayed, indicating that the operation is successful.

  3. Click Close.
