Modifying Properties of a Clone File System

You can modify the properties of a clone file system, including its name, description, and splitting speed.

Procedure

  1. Choose Data Protection > Clone.
  2. Click the File System tab.
  3. Select a clone file system whose properties you want to modify.

    1. In the left file system tree, select the parent file system of the clone file system you want to modify.
    2. On the right, select the clone file system you want to modify.

  4. Modify the properties of the clone file system.

    1. Click Properties.
      NOTE:

      You can also right-click the clone file system and choose Properties from the shortcut menu.

      The Clone File System Properties: xxx dialog box is displayed (xxx: name of the clone file system).

    2. Modify the name, description, and splitting speed of the clone file system.

      Table 2-4 describes related parameters.

    • The name must be unique.
    • The name contains only letters, digits, and underscores (_).
    • The name contains 1 to 255 characters.

    Split Speed

    Splitting speed of the clone file system.

    [Value range]

    • Highest: The speed is normally above 200 MB/s. Splitting will be completed in the shortest period. This value is applicable when the service load is light.
    • High: The speed is normally from 100 MB/s to 200 MB/s. Splitting will be completed in the short period. This value is applicable when the service load is relatively light.
    • Medium: The speed is normally from 50 MB/s to 100 MB/s. Splitting will be completed in the long period. This value is applicable when the service load is relatively heavy.
    • Low: The speed is normally from 0 MB/s to 50 MB/s. Splitting will be completed in the longest period. This value is applicable when the service load is heavy.

  5. Confirm the modification.

    1. Click OK.

      The Execution Result dialog box is displayed, indicating that the operation is successful.

    2. Click Close.
