What Can I Do If Reinstalling SystemReporter Fails After an Installation Process Is Suspended Abnormally?

What Can I Do If Reinstalling SystemReporter Fails After an Installation Process Is Suspended Abnormally?

Symptom

The installation process is suspended abnormally, and reinstalling SystemReporter fails.

Possible Cause

After the installation process is suspended abnormally, residual files are not deleted.

Procedure

  • For Windows
    1. Start Windows Task Manager. On the Services page, stop the ReporterDB service.
    2. Delete the directory where database files reside. Use the default system directory as an example. Delete the gs and reporterdb files on disk D. The files to be deleted are based on actual conditions.
    3. Choose Start > Computer > Properties. In the dialog box that is displayed, click Advanced system settings. On the Advanced tab page, click Environment Variables. In the System variables area, delete values related to ReportDB, such as d:\gs\app\lib and d:\gs\app\bin, of GAUSSHOME, GAUSSDATA, and path.
    4. Run the cmd command to open the CLI. Run the SC DELETE ReporterDB command to delete the registered ReportDB service. If the ReportDB service is not registered, a message is displayed, indicating that the service is not found. In this case, skip this operation.
    5. Delete the D:\Runtime directory.
    6. Run the cmd command to open the CLI. Run the SC DELETE ReporterSrv and SC DELETE ReporterMonitor commands to delete the SystemReporter service.
    7. Delete the legoInstalled.xml file in the C:\user\administrator directory.
    NOTE:
When the installation fails due to residual files or services, you can enter the Runtime\bin directory under the installation package and run the cleanUpSystemReporter.bat script to clear residual files and services of SystemReporter, not requiring the previous manual operations.
  • For Linux
    1. Perform the following operations to stop the ReportDB service: Run the ps -efww | grep reporterdb | grep app/bin | awk '{print $2}' command to obtain the process ID.
      • If the process ID is empty, go to the next step.
      • If the process ID is not empty, run the kill -9 XXX command, and then go to the next step. In the preceding command, XXX indicates the obtained process ID.
    2. Run the rm -rf /usr/local/reporterdb command to delete ReporterDB installation files.
    3. Run the rm -rf /opt/reporterdb command to delete ReporterDB data files.
    4. Run the rm -rf /etc/init.d/reporterdb command to delete the ReporterDB service.
    5. Run the rm -rf /opt/reporter command to delete the SystemReporter program.
    6. Run the rm -rf /home/OceanStorMgrUser/legoInstalled.xml command to delete the SystemReporter system file.
    7. Run the rm -rf /etc/init.d/lego command to delete the SystemReporter service.
