Client

On SystemReporter, you can view the historical performance view of clientss. In addition, you can export and save the historical performance view to analyze performance indicators of clientss.

Prerequisites

  • You have registered a device.
  • SystemReporter has been monitoring devices for a time period and produced the monitored data.

Procedure

  1. Go to the page of performance monitoring view of an object.
    1. On the menu bar, click Monitoring.
    2. In the left navigation tree, choose Device model > Device name(XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX) > Client.

      NOTE:

      Device model, Device name, and XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX indicate the model, name, and IP address of the device that has been registered.

    3. In the function pane on the right, click Historical.
  2. If you want to view performance data in the preset report, click Preset Report in the right function pane.

    NOTE:
    Preset reports contains common statistical items preset by SystemReporter. In preset reports, you can view clients' performance comparison curves based on a specific indicator template.

  3. Optional: From the Indicator Template drop-down list, select an indicator template.

    NOTE:
    • You can click Details after Indicator Template to view indicators of the current object type in this indicator template.
    • After you select an indicator template for a resource type, the system will only display the indicators supported by the resource type in the selected template.
    • If the resource type does not support any indicator in the selected template, the template is filtered and not displayed.

  4. Optional: In the drop-down list of Statistical period, select a statistical period that you want to view.

    NOTE:
    • The optional ranges are 24 hours, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 1 year, and Custom.
    • If you select Custom, set the start time and end time. The user-defined time range must be within one year.

  5. Optional: From the Display Rules drop-down list, select objects that you want to display.

    NOTE:

    The display rules include top 5, top 10, top 16, bottom 5, bottom 10, bottom 16, and Custom.

  6. Optional: Customize display items.
    1. Click after Display Rules.

      The Customize Display Items dialog box is displayed.

    2. In the available object area, select the objects that you want to display and click .
    3. Click OK.
  7. In the right function pane, check the indicator view.

    NOTE:
    Indicator view: When the interval between two data collection points is twice (or more) that of the previous interval in the monitoring curve, the curve is disconnected. Monitor the status of new data collection points dynamically generated in real time. If the interval between a new data collection point and the previous one is equal to or greater than twice the value of the collection period, the curve is disconnected. Data size of capacity specifications is 1min. Since data of Synchronization Duration (s) and Time difference (s) is generated irregularly, the curve is still connected.

  8. If you want to view performance data in the customized report, click Customize Report in the right function pane.Table 4-13 describes the parameters.

    NOTE:
    Customized reports contains performance statistics of desired clients only. Administrators can set filtering criteria to filter out clients. Statistics include the number of file system resource reads and writes and the volume of transferred data.

    Clients are filtered out by statistical mode (including IP address, full path of accessed file systems, and file system names)

    Protocol type

    In IP address filtering, you can further filter clients by protocol type.

    Command

    In IP address filtering, you can further filter clients by operation, including Create, Delete, Write, Read, and Rename.

    Statistical period

    Clients are filtered by period specified by users.

  9. Click Generate.

    In Statistical Results, a report generated based on the statistical parameters is displayed.

  10. Click Export to export the data of the customized report.

In the function pane on the right, you can perform operations described in Table 4-14.

  1. Click Favorites.
  2. In the Favorites dialog box, configure Name.
    NOTE:
    • The name contains a maximum of 32 characters.
    • The name can contain only digits, letters, underscores(_), and hyphens(-), and must start with a letter or underscore(_).
  3. Click OK.

Save the performance curves of indicators to Favorites Folder in Home.

Save Layout

Click .

Store the layout after locations of indicators on the page are changed.

NOTE:
If indicators in the indicator template change, the layout will be reset to its initial status.
