How Can I Troubleshoot Installation Failure Caused by Permission Restriction on Windows 2012 R2?


After a user logs in to the Windows 2012 R2 operating system as a super administrator:

  • A message is displayed indicating that the user has no permission to access files under the C:\windows\temp\ directory when the user installs GaussDB.
  • The SystemReporter installation progress stops at 99% when the user installs SystemReporter.

Possible Causes

By default, the Administrator account of Windows 2012 R2 is disabled. If this account is required, it needs to be manually enabled.

Handling Procedure

  1. Press Win+R to open the Run window.
  2. Run the netplwiz command. The User Accounts dialog box is displayed.
  3. Click the Users tab, select Administrator, and click Properties.
  4. In the dialog box that is displayed, click the Group Membership tab and Administrator. Confirm the settings and exit.
  5. Perform installations.
