Configuring a Directory for Monitoring

This section explains how to configure directories that you want to monitor.

Prerequisites

At least one device has been registered.

Context

SystemReporter can monitor directories for which quotas have been created. If the number of directories for which quotas have been created does not exceed 1024, SystemReporter monitors all such directories by default after the device is registered. Otherwise, you need to manually configure directories that you want to monitor. A maximum of 1024 directories can be monitored.

Procedure

  1. Go to the directory configuration dialog box.
    1. In the main menu area, click System.
    2. In the left navigation tree, choose System Configuration > Registration and Configuration.
    3. From the list of registered devices in the function pane, select a device whose directories you want to monitor.
    4. Click Configure Monitored Directory.

The Configure Monitored Directory dialog box is displayed.

  2. Configure the directory that you want to monitor.
    1. Click Add.

The Add Directory to Be Monitored dialog box is displayed.

    2. Select a method to add directories.

      • Manually entering directories
        1. Select Manually enter directories.
        2. Manually enter the path of a directory in the text box and click OK.

The Succeeded dialog box is displayed.

          NOTE:
          • The path cannot be (.) or (..).
          • If you want to monitor all subdirectories under the entered directory, select Contained Subdirectory.
        3. Click OK.
      • Selecting directories from the list
        1. Select Select directories from the list.
        2. Select one or more directories from the list and click OK.

The Succeeded dialog box is displayed.

          NOTE:
If you want to monitor all subdirectories under the selected directories, select Contained Subdirectory.
        3. Click OK.
