Viewing Hotspot Statistics Reports

This section describes how to view utilization and work loads of key components on storage devices.


Devices have been registered.


Hotspot statistics reports are used to describe the utilization of components. The statistical results are distinguished by color. High utilization indicates a heavy work load, and is represented in warm colors.

  • After a device is registered, SystemReporter automatically adds a default hotspot statistics view that is named XXX last 24 hours hotspot statistics (XXX represents the device name).
  • You cannot modify or delete the default hotspot statistics view. After you have deregistered the device, system automatically deletes the default hotspot statistics view.


  1. Go to the hotspot statistics page.
    1. On the menu bar of System, click Home.
    2. In the navigation tree, click Hotspot Statistics.
  2. View a device's hotspot statistics view.
    1. In Hotspot Statistics, click a device name that you want to view. In the hotspot statistics view of the function pane, click an object you want to view. The basic information of the object is displayed.

      Figure 4-1 describes the relationship between colors and utilization of the hotspot statistics view.

    2. In the function pane, click Performance Details to view detailed information of specific objects.

    After devices are registered, the system displays the hotspot statistics view of last 24 hours by default. If you want to see a hotspot statistics view in another time range, perform the following operations.

  3. Optional: View a hotspot statistics view in another time range.
    1. Click Home.
    2. Choose Home > Home.
    3. In the function pane, click Manage Hotspot Statistics.

      The Manage Hotspot Statistics dialog box is displayed.

    4. In the Manage Hotspot Statistics dialog box, click Add.

      The Add Hotspot Diagram dialog box is displayed.

    5. In the Add Hotspot Diagram dialog box, configure related parameters. Table 4-1 describes related parameters.

      Device for which you want to add a hotspot statistics view.


      Name of the hotspot statistics view.

      The name contains digits, letters, underscores (_), and hyphens (-). It must start with a letter or underscore (_).

      Statistical Period

      Time range for which hotspot statistics views are generated. The value can be Last 1 hour, Last 2 hours, Last 12 hours, Last 7 days, or Custom.

      If you select Custom, you can set Statistic Period to Last 1 hour to Last 23 hours, or Last 2 days to Last 7 days.

    6. Click OK.

      In Hotspot Statistics, hotspot statistics views of registered devices generated in specific time ranges are displayed.

Follow-up Procedure

You can perform operations to performance details as described in Table 4-2.

You can save the view as a .png image. Then a download window is popped up from the status bar.

Zoom in a selected area

You can select an area in the view and zoom in the selected area.

Click .

Roll back in a selected area

You can roll back to the status before the zoom in.

Click .


You can restore the amplified image.

Click .
