Installation on Linux

This section describes how to install SystemReporter on Linux.

Prerequisites

  • You have obtained the SystemReporter installation package, and the SystemReporter version matches the storage device version.
  • To ensure successful software installation, install software in Linux using the root account.
  • If you choose to customize the installation, prepare data before installation. For details about data preparation, see Data Preparations.

Procedure

  1. Run the cd /XXX command to access the directory where the installation package is stored. XXX indicates the directory of the installation package.
  2. Run the unzip XXX command to decompress the installation package, where XXX is the name of the compressed installation package.
  3. Run the sh cliInstall.sh command to install SystemReporter. The command output is as follows:

    linux-sr:/software #sh cliInstall.sh 
    Please select Installation mode.
    1: Default installation
    2: Custom installation
    Please enter your option: [1]
    
    NOTE:

    Two installation modes (default installation and custom installation) are displayed.

  4. Select an installation mode, and start the installation.

    NOTE:

    On Linux, the installation path is fixed and cannot be changed.

    • SystemReporter can be installed in /opt/reporter only. If the directory exists, ensure that it is empty. Otherwise, the files in the directory may lose or the installation may fail.
    • On Linux, Database file can be installed in /opt/reporterdb/data only.
    • Select the default installation.
      1. Press Enter, to perform default installation.
      2. When the following information is displayed, the installation is successful.
        System install success!
      3. Optional: When the following information is displayed, type y and press Enter. The system starts up SystemReporter.
        are you sure to start up the software immediately? Please input y/n.y
        NOTE:

        One prerequisite for perfoming this operation is that you must immediately start up SystemReporter. If you do not want to start up now, type n and press Enter to exit startup. If you want to start up SystemReporter later, see Starting SystemReporter Services for details.

    • Select the custom installation.
      1. Type 2 and press Enter. In the command output, configure the HTTPS port.
      2. The following information is displayed, indicating that the installation is successful.
        System install success!
      3. Optional: If the following command is displayed, type y and press Enter. The system starts up SystemReporter.
        are you sure to start up the software immediately? Please input y/n.y
        NOTE:
        • If you want to immediately start up SystemReporter, perform this operation.
        • If you enter n, the system exits the startup. If you want to start SystemReporter later, see Starting SystemReporter Services for details.
        • SystemReporter services must be enabled before you use SystemReporter.
