  • Restrictions on the IP address/mask

When the mask is 8, the subnet mask is an 8-bit mask, that is, 255.0.0.0. The last three bits (x.y.z) of the configured IP address (w.x.y.z) cannot be 0.

When the mask is 16, the subnet mask is a 16-bit mask, that is, 255.255.0.0. The last two bits (y.z) of the configured IP address (w.x.y.z) cannot be 0.

When the mask is 24, the subnet mask is a 24-bit mask, that is, 255.255.255.0. The last one bit (z) of the configured IP address (w.x.y.z) cannot be 0.
