add snmp usm

Function

The add snmp usm command is used to add Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) USM user information.

Format

add snmp usm < user_name > <user_level> < authenticate_protocol > < private_protocol >

user_name SNMP USM user name.

The value contains 8 to 39 characters and cannot contain only spaces.

user_level user level.

ReadWrite: can read & write.

ReadOnly: can only read.

authenticate_protocol Authentication protocol.

Protocol used for verifying messages

  • MD5: Message Digest Algorithm MD5 (HMACMD5)
  • SHA: Secure Hash Algorithm (HMAC-SHA256)
  • NONE: No authentication protocol
MD5 is not recommended because it is insecure. We recommend to use SHA(HMAC-SHA256). If you specify authenticate_protocol, you need to set an authorization password.
private_protocol Encryption protocol.

Encryption protocol used for encapsulating data

  • DES: Data Encryption Standard (DES), an international universal encryption algorithm. The key length is 64 bytes.
  • AES: Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). The key length is 256 bytes.
  • NONE: No encryption protocol
DES is not recommended because it is insecure. We recommend to use AES. If you specify private_protocol, you need to set an encryption password.
authentication password Authentication password.

The value contains 8 to 16 characters.

The value must contain any three character types of digits, uppercase and lowercase characters, and special characters, and be different from the user name or mirror writing of the user name, and cannot contain only repeated character strings.

You can enter special characters and special characters does not need to be escaped.

Special characters include: `~!@#$%^&*()-_=+|[{}];:'\",<.>/?. and space.

private password Encryption password.

The value contains 8 to 16 characters.
