Replaceable Parts and Replacement Policies

This section describes the parts replacement list and replacement policies.

When replacing faulty hardware in the OceanStor 9000 V5, observe the following principles:
  • When replacing components of the storage node, perform the operations outlined in this document, and recover services by referring to related alarms and performing operations in the OceanStor 9000 V5 Troubleshooting Guide.
  • When replacing switches and other components, remove and install the devices by performing the operations outlined in delivery-attached manuals and recover services.
  • The new hard disk must be obtained from the Huawei or Huawei authorized agent.
Table 1-1 lists the replaceable components and replacement policies of the OceanStor 9000 V5.

RAID 1 has been configured for system disks. Replacing one disk has no impacts on system running.

When one system disk is faulty, replace it as soon as possible.

Power module

Support for hot swap.

Two power modules are configured by default. Replacing one power module has no impacts on system running.

When one power module is faulty, replace it as soon as possible.

Fan module

Needs to be powered off before replacement.

Internal Cable

Needs to be powered off before replacement.

Front Disk Backplane

The server needs to be powered off and the main control board enclosure needs to be removed before replacement. Replace the faulty memory module as soon as possible.

NVDIMM module

The server needs to be powered off and the main control board enclosure needs to be removed before replacement. Replace the faulty NVDIMM module as soon as possible.

Service disk backplane

The server needs to be powered off and the main control board enclosure needs to be removed before replacement. Replace the faulty service disk backplane as soon as possible.

Network adapter

The server needs to be powered off and the main control board enclosure needs to be removed before replacement. Replace the faulty network adapter as soon as possible.

Fan module

The server needs to be powered off and the main control board enclosure needs to be removed before replacement. Replace the faulty fan module as soon as possible.

Integrated system

The server needs to be powered off before replacement.

The allowed maximum number of faulty nodes is related to redundancy ratio settings. To prevent data loss, replace the faulty storage node as soon as possible.

GE/10GE/25GE switch

Integrated system

The switch needs to be powered off before replacement.
