Networking Requirements

In Figure 3-4, the application client is connected to the network through a router, and an application server is deployed to provide service to the application client. A user operates TCP applications on the application client, for example, website visiting, remote Telnet login, and FTP file operation. The user wants to know the network statistics such as network delay and packet loss rate of TCP applications, so the user enables TCP FPM on the router to collect network statistics in real time. Based on the network statistics, the user can promptly optimize the network.

Configuration Roadmap

  1. Enable TCP FPM on GE0/0/1.
  2. View TCP FPM statistics.

    # Run the display tcp fpm session all command on the router to view TCP FPM statistics. Loss(%) indicates the packet loss rate, CND indicates the network time on client, and SND indicates the network time on server.
