Configuring CC

Configuring CC

After CC is configured, MEPs periodically send CCMs to detect connectivity between them.

Context

Perform the following operation on all edge devices (devices where MEPs are configured) in all MAs.

The MEP and REMP cannot be configured before CC is configured.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run cfm md md-name

    The MD view is displayed.

  3. Run senderid-tlv-type { chassis | chassis-manage | defer | manage | none}
  4. Run ma ma-name

    The MA view is displayed.

  5. Run ccm-interval interval

The interval at which a MEP sends or detects CCMs in the MA is set.

The interval at which CCMs are sent or detected cannot be changed on the device in an MA if any of the following operations has been performed:

    • The device is enabled to send CCMs using the mep ccm-send enable command.

    • The device is enabled to receive CCMs using the remote-mep ccm-receive enable command.

The undo mep ccm-send enable or undo mep ccm-receive enable command must be run before the interval is reconfigured.

  6. Run mep ccm-send [ mep-id mep-id ] enable

The MEP is enabled to send CCMs.

If mep-id mep-id is not specified, all the MEPs in an MA are enabled to send CCMs.

  7. Run remote-mep ccm-receive [ mep-id mep-id ] enable

The MEP is enabled to receive CCMs from an RMEP in the same MA.

When a MEP is enabled to receive CCMs from an RMEP, CC can be used to detect connectivity faults between the MEP and the RMEP.

If mep-id mep-id is not specified, the MEP is enabled to receive CCMs from all the RMEPs in the same MA.

Follow-up Procedure

  • To enable CC in multiple MAs, repeat step 4 to step 6.

  • To enable CC in multiple MDs, repeat step 2 to step 6.
