Deleting Invalid Interfaces from an Interface Monitoring Group

Deleting Invalid Interfaces from an Interface Monitoring Group

Invalid interfaces caused by faulty boards can be deleted from an interface monitoring group.

If a board is removed from a device, the interfaces that reside on the board and are added to be an interface monitoring group become invalid. These interfaces cannot be unbound from the interface monitoring group because they do not exist. Deleting these interfaces from the interface monitoring group is recommended.

  1. Run the clear monitor-group monitor-group-name invalid-interface { binding | track } command to delete invalid interfaces from an interface monitoring group.

Before deleting invalid interfaces, confirm that the deletion operation does not cause the trigger-down-weight value of a track interface to be greater than the sum of the down-weight values of all binding interfaces. This will cause the interface monitoring group to become invalid.
