RS485 Meter Parameter Plan

An RS485 meter connects to a DCC through RS485, exchanges data with the DCC through DLT645, and connects to a DCU through the DCC. Table 6-15 describes the RS485 meter parameter plan.

Profile parameters

Device model

The value is composed of the communication protocol plus the device model, for example, RS485-DLT645-CL710K11.


The ESN is the 20-digit code of an RS485 meter and consists of letters and digits.


The value is the 11-digit or 12-digit code of an RS485 meter before delivery.

Asset name

Name of an RS485 meter. The value is user-defined based on the actual name and cannot contain special characters.

Factory code

Name of the manufacturer. For example, the EEM supports the CLOU's RS485 meter profile, so the value of this parameter is CLOU.

Organization name

Name of an organization that an RS485 meter belongs to. If the organization name is not specified duringRS485 meter profile creation, the RS485 meter belongs to the organization default by default. After the profile is created, the organization can be changed.
