EEM Parameter Plan

EEM parameters include basic parameters of the EEM server and corresponding database, as described in Table 6-3. Information about the following databases needs to be configured: MongoDB database used by the EEM, and Oracle database used by the EEM for data storage.

EEM

Operating system User/Password

User name and password used by a non-root user for logging in to the EEM server. These parameters can be configured when the iDeploy is used to install the EEM.
NOTE:

In the Linux operating system, there are potential security risks because root users have high-level rights, so non-root users are specified for logging in to the DCP and EEM servers.

Services NIC

Network adapter of the EEM, which is used for communication between the EEM and third-party application system and between the EEM and DCP.

Management NIC

Network adapter used for communication between EEM servers in the EEM cluster. The values of Management NIC and Services NIC can be the same, but you are advised to use different values.

HTTPS Port

Port number used for communication between the DCP and EEM and remote access to the EEM through the web. The default value is 18002.

Restful Port

Port used by the EEM to deliver instructions and parameters and obtains alarms. The default value is 8081. Any available port can be used. The value must be the same as that configured on the DCP.

IP address of an EEM node

Management IP address

IP address used for communication between EEM nodes in the EEM cluster and also used by an administrator to manage EEM nodes. The parameter is also used by EEM nodes to detect the online status.

Service IP address

IP address used by other systems to connect to the EEM and for remote access through the web. An EEM node uses this IP address to process AMI services. If the iDeploy is used for installing the EEM, the value of this parameter must be configured to complete EEM software installation on the target device.

IP address of an EEM cluster

Floating IP address for alarm management

Virtual IP address that is unique in a data center. The IP address is on the same network segment as the value of Management IP address of an EEM node and the value of Cluster management node's floating IP address.

Cluster management node's floating IP address

Virtual IP address that is unique in a data center. The IP address is on the same network segment as the value of Management IP address of an EEM node. This parameter is used by an EEM cluster to communicate with other devices in the same data center and also used by an administrator to manage the EEM cluster.

Northbound proxy's floating IP address

Virtual IP address that is unique in a data center. The IP address is on the same network segment as the value of Service IP address of an EEM node. The IP address is used by other components to communicate with the EEM cluster, and is also used by external users to connect to the EEM cluster through the web.

MongoDB configuration

Database administrator user

Administrator of the MongoDB.

Password

Password of the MongoDB administrator. The value contains at least eight characters and two combinations of lowercase letters, uppercase letters, digits, and special characters.

Database service user

Service user of the MongoDB, which is used for service exchange between the DCP and EEM.

Password

Password of the service user of the MongoDB database. The value contains at least eight characters and two combinations of lowercase letters, uppercase letters, digits, and special characters.

Database

IOT Database IP

IP address of the database, which is used by other devices to connect to the database.
  • When the Oracle in the single-node system is deployed, the value is the IP address of the Oracle database server.
  • If the Oracle RAC is deployed, the value is the SCAN IP address of the Oracle database.
  • If Oracle HA is deployed, the value is the virtual IP address of the Oracle database.
  • When the MySQL database in the single-node system is deployed, the value is the IP address of the MySQL database server.
  • If MySQL HA is deployed, the value is the virtual IP address of the MySQL database.

Database Server Name

Instance name used by the EEM in the Oracle database, which is used for data exchange between the EEM and Oracle or MySQL database.You do not need to configure this parameter if the EEM uses the MySQL database.

IOT Database Port

Port number used by the EEM to connect to the Oracle or MySQL database. The default value is 1521 for the Oracle database or 3306 for the MySQL database.

Database System User/Password

User name and password of the system administrator of the Oracle or MySQL database. The default administrator of the Oracle database is system, and the default administrator of the MySQL database is root. The password is user-defined.
