RF Meter Parameter Plan

A RF meter exchanges data with a DCU over an RF link, and supports HDLC-based DLMS. Table 6-14 describes the RF meter parameter plan.

Profile parameters

Device model

The value is composed of the communication protocol plus the device model, for example, RF-DLMS-CL710K22.


The ESN is the 20-digit code of an RF meter and consists of letters and digits.


The value is the 11-digit or 12-digit code of an RF meter before delivery.

Asset name

Name of an RF meter. The value is user-defined based on the actual name and cannot contain special characters.

Factory code

Name of the manufacturer. For example, the EEM supports the CLOU's RF meter profile, so the value of this parameter is CLOU.

Organization name

Name of an organization that an RF meter belongs to. If the organization name is not specified during RF meter profile creation, the RF meter belongs to the organization default by default. After the profile is created, the organization can be changed.


DCU that an RF meter is directly connected or belong to.

Communications parameters

Logical Device Name

The value consists of HWT1 plus a string of 12 digits. If the SN of a DLMS meter is a string of 12 digits, the system appends HWT1 before the SN to generate a logical device name. If the SN of a DLMS meter is a string of 11 digits or letters, the system appends HWT1 before the SN and 0 after the SN.


Low-level encryption key

The low-level and high-level authentication passwords used for communication between RF meters and the DCU contain 6 to 16 characters that allow only letters and digits. The passwords can be configured based on site survey data. If the passwords are not configured, the default password Admin@huawei is used.

High-level encryption key

Authentication level

Authentication level used for communication between RF meters and a DCU. There are three authentication modes: high-level authentication, low-level authentication, and non-authentication.

Encryption algorithm

Encryption algorithm used for communication between RF meters and the DCU. The value can be Advanced Encryption Standard (AES)-128, AES-256, or Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA)-256. You can specify an encryption algorithm based on the network situation.
