FTP Parameter Plan

FTP Parameter Plan

The EEM, DCP, DCU, DCC, and smart meters use the FTP server for terminal upgrade. You can remotely upgrade terminals through the EEM. DCUs, DCCs, smart meters, and subcards can be upgraded, and all upgrade files are stored on the FTP server. The EEM can manage upgrade files of the FTP server and a DCU downloads upgrade files from the FTP server, so there must be reachable routes between the FTP server and EEM and between the FTP server and DCU. The DCP periodically uploads logs to the FTP server, so there must be reachable routes between the FTP server and DCP.

FTP parameters include basic parameters of the FTP servers and interconnection parameters, as described in Table 6-16.
Table 6-16  FTP parameter plan

Basic FTP parameters

Operating system User/Password

User name and password used by an administrator for logging in to the FTP server.

IP Address

IP address used by other devices to connect to the FTP server. The FTP server is used for terminal upgrade and the DCP needs to upload logs to the FTP server, so the EEM, DCP, DCU, and GPRS meter need to access the FTP server.

FTP Port

Port number used by other systems and terminals to connect to the FTP server. SFTP is recommended to ensure data security. The SFTP port number is 22 and the FTP port number is 21 by default.

Interconnection parameters

User name and password used by other systems or terminals to connect to the FTP server. Different devices use different user names and passwords.
