DCP Parameter Plan

DCP parameters include basic parameters of the DCP server, parameters of the database and FTP server, and DCP profile parameters on the EEM, as described in Table 6-4.

Basic DCP parameters

Operating system User/Password

User name and password used by a non-root user for logging in to the DCP server. These parameters can be configured when the iDeploy is used to install the DCP.
NOTE:

In the Linux operating system, there are potential security risks because root users have high-level rights, so non-root users are specified for logging in to the DCP and EEM servers.

Northbound IP Address

IP address of the northbound interface of the DCP server, which is used for communication with the EEM. When the iDeploy is used to install the DCP, the value of this parameter must be configured to complete DCP software installation on the target device. Ensure that there are reachable routes between Northbound IP Address of the DCP and Service IP address of the EEM.

Southbound IP Address

IP address of the southbound interface of the DCP server, which is used for connecting the F5 load balancer to the DCP server and for communication between DCUs and GPRS meters.

DCP port

Port number used by the DCP to communicate with the EEM. The default value is 8081.

DCP Protocol

Communication protocol used between the DCP and EEM. The value can be http or https and must be the same as that configured on the EEM. HTTPS is recommended to ensure communication security.

Database

Database IP

IP address of the database, which is used by other devices to connect to the database.
  • When the Oracle in the single-node system is deployed, the value is the IP address of the Oracle database server.
  • If the Oracle RAC is deployed, the value is the SCAN IP address of the Oracle database.
  • If Oracle HA is deployed, the value is the virtual IP address of the Oracle database.
  • When the MySQL database in the single-node system is deployed, the value is the IP address of the MySQL database server.
  • If MySQL HA is deployed, the value is the virtual IP address of the MySQL database.

Database Instance

Instance name used by the DCP in the Oracle database, which is used for data exchange between the DCP and database. You do not need to configure this parameter if the DCP uses the MySQL database.

Database Port

Port number used by the DCP to connect to the Oracle or MySQL database. The default value is 1521 for the Oracle database or 3306 for the MySQL database.

DB Username/Password

User name and password used by the DCP to connect to the Oracle or MySQL database. These parameters can be configured when the iDeploy is used to install the DCP. The user name must be set to DCP.

FTP parameters

FTP IP

FTP server's IP address used by the DCP. The DCP can use the FTP server to upload all log files.

FTP Type

The value can be FTP or SFTP. SFTP is recommended to ensure data security.

FTP Port

Port number used by the DCP to connect to the FTP server. SFTP is recommended to ensure data security. The SFTP port number is 22 and the FTP port number is 21 by default.

FTP Username/Password

User name and password used by the DCP to connect to the FTP server.

Files Upload Dir

File upload path on the FTP or SFTP server, which must be created manually on the FTP or SFTP server. If SFTP is configured, the same directory must be configured for both SFTP and FTP.

EEM information

EEM IP

IP address used by the DCP to communicate with the EEM. If the EEM in the single-node system is deployed, the value of this parameter is the IP address of the EEM server. If an EEM cluster is deployed, the value of this parameter is the virtual IP address of the EEM cluster.

EEM Port

Port number used for communication between the DCP and EEM and remote access to the EEM through the web. The default value is 18002.

EEM Protocol

Communication protocol used between the EEM and DCP. The value can be HTTP or HTTPS. HTTPS is recommended to ensure communication security. The value must be the same as that configured on the DCP server. This protocol is also used for logging in to the EEM through the web.

EEM Username/Password

User name and password used by the DCP to connect to the EEM, which is user-defined. The user is the interface user of the EEM and has interface operation rights; the user has been created on the EEM before DCP installation; and the user has been used for logging in to the EEM and the password is changed as prompted. The password configured on the DCP is the changed one.

Buffer configuration

DCP Capacity of Gateways

Number of DCUs connected to the DCP. The unit is 10,000. This parameter is configured based on the network situation.

DCP Capacity of Meters

Number of smart meters connected to the DCP. The unit is 10,000. This parameter is configured based on the network situation.

DCP Archives Refresh Cycle

Time for refreshing profiles of all devices stored on the DCP.

Log configuration

Log Level

There are eight levels of DCP logs. The value ranges from 0 to 7, which can be configured as required.

Load balancing

Load Balancer IP

IP address of the load balancer connected to the DCP.
  • If the LVS is used, the value is the virtual IP address of the LVS.
  • When the single F5 load balancer is deployed, the value is the IP address of the F5 load balancer. When active and standby F5 load balancers are deployed, the value is the virtual IP address of the F5 load balancer.

DCP profile parameters on the EEM

Name

Name of the DCP displayed on the EEM, which is user-defined. The value cannot contain any special character.

Protocol

Communication protocol between the DCP and EEM. The value can be HTTP or HTTPS and is set to HTTPS by default.

FTP Type

Communication protocol used between the DCP and FTP server. The value can be FTP or SFTP. SFTP is used to ensure data security. For details about SFTP configuration, see AMI Solution Design and Deployment Guide.

FTP Username/Password

User name and password used by the DCP to connect to the FTP server. The values must be the same as the values of the FTP server and the values configured during DCP installation.

FTP Port

Port number used by the DCP to connect to the FTP server. The value must be the same as the value of the FTP server and the value configured during DCP installation.

Files Upload

Download path on the FTP server. The default path is public.
