Configuring Network IP Addresses

Configuring Network IP Addresses

Configure the network IP addresses of the DR server as planned.

Table 2-1 provides a configuration example.

Table 2-1 Network IP addresses

Device Name

Port Type

IP Address

RH5885H V3/RH8100 V3

9008 V5/2488H V5

BMC management network port

BMC management IP address

OS management port eth0

The IP addresses of the OS management network port and BMC management network port must be on the same network segment.

10 GE service network port bond0

Uplink service network port IP address, which is also used for data synchronization

The DR system environment requires two network segments. The network IP addresses used in this document are as follows:

BMC network port: Connect the RH5885H V3/RH8100 V3/9008 V5/2488H V5 BMC network port to the GE switch.

OS maintenance network port: Connect the RH5885H V3/RH8100 V3/9008 V5/2488H V5 GE network port to the GE switch. It is recommended that the IP addresses of the OS maintenance network port and BMC network ports be on the same network segment.

Uplink service port/Database synchronization network port: Aggregate two 10GE ports (one on each NIC) of the RH5885H V3/RH8100 V3/9008 V5/2488H V5.

It is recommended that two 10GE network ports be aggregated to work as the uplink service port/database synchronization network port, forming an HA network.
