Installation Method 1

1. Download the SAP HANA Client installation package (x86_64), for example, IMDB_CLIENT20_002_36-80002082.SAR, and the decompression file SAPCAR_816-80000935.exe, from the official SAP website.
2. Upload the installation package and decompression software to a directory, such as /home, on the SAP HANA server.
3. Log in to DR server node.
4. Run the chmod +x * command to add the execute permission.

   hw00003:/home# chmod  +x  *

5. Run the ./SAPCAR_816-80000935.exe -xvf IMDB_CLIENT20_002_36-80002082.SAR command to decompress the installation package. The SAP_HANA_CLIENT directory is generated after the decompression.

   hw00003:/home # ./SAPCAR_816-80000935.exe -xvf  IMDB_CLIENT20_002_36-80002082.SAR

6. Run the cd SAP_HANA_CLIENT command to go to the SAP_HANA_CLIENT directory.

   hw00003:/home # cd SAP_HANA_CLIENT

7. Run the ./hdbinst command to install the SAP HANA Client.
   Retain the default installation directory /usr/sap/hdbclient when prompted. If hdblcm_gui is used, the default installation directory is /hana/shared/<SID>/hdbclient.

   hw00003:/home /SAP_HANA_CLIENT # ./hdbinst

Installation Method 2

Download the SAP HANA Client installation package from the official SAP website. Decompress it to the local PC and upload the HDB_CLIENT_LINUX_X86_64 installation package generated after the decompression to the SAP HANA server nodes. The procedure is as follows:

1. Download the SAP HANA Client installation package (x86_64), for example, IMDB_CLIENT20_002_36-80002082.SAR, from the official SAP website.
2. Decompress the package on the local computer to obtain the SAP HANA Client installation package HDB_CLIENT_LINUX_X86_64 (The package name depends on the actual situation).
3. Upload HDB_CLIENT_LINUX_X86_64 to the SAP HANA server nodes.
4. Log in to DR server node.
5. Run the chmod +x * command to add the execute permission.

   hw00003:/home# chmod +x *

6. Run the cd ./SAP_HANA_CLIENT command to go to the SAP_HANA_CLIENT directory.

   hw00003:/home # cd ./SAP_HANA_CLIENT

7. Run the ./hdbinst command to install the SAP HANA Client.
   Retain the default installation directory /usr/sap/hdbclient when prompted. If hdblcm_gui is used, the default installation directory is /hana/shared/<SID>/hdbclient.
