Checking Environmental Requirements

This section describes environmental conditions such as the equipment room, cabling status, and network status to be checked before you install the eLog.

Before you install the eLog, check environmental conditions according to the following table.

Table 4-1 Requirements on installation environment




Long-term operating condition: 15ºC to 30ºC;

Short-term operating condition: 0ºC to 45ºC


Long-term operating condition: 40% to 65%;

Short-term operating condition: 20% to 90%


Dust granules whose diameters are larger than 5 micrometer cannot be more than 3 x 104/m3.


The floor is ESD movable and properly grounded.


According to the instructions, the equipment room must have good ventilation and sufficient space for operation and maintenance.

Power supply

The power supply should be an independent external power supply system that offers stable electricity. You are advised to use the Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS).


The routers connecting all devices have been configured. The devices are accessible and the network where the devices reside is normal.
