Logging In to the eLog System

This section describes how to log in to the eLog system.


Upon the first login, use the default super administrator account Changeme123.

The eLog does not allow the login to the analyzer from an IPv6 addresses. Therefore, do not set server IP address to localhost if the operating system has installed IPv6.


  1. Enter https://analyzer web access IP address:port (The eLog uses port 32229 by default. If you have specified a port other than the default one during the installation, enter the specified port.) in the address bar and press Enter.

    • It is recommended that you add the eLog site to the trusted site.
    • If you open the eLog through http://analyzer web access IP address:port (the eLog uses port 8080 by default. If you have specified port 80 other than the default one during the installation, the port number can be omitted), the system automatically changes it withhttps://analyzer web access IP address:port.

    Please use the IP address of eLog analyzer, but not the IP address of log collector.


    If "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" is displayed, click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options. Click the Advanced tab and select Use TLS1.1 and Use TLS1.2. Restart the browser. Then, you can access the web page.

  2. Select a language on the login page and enter the correct user name and password.

    The eLog supports Chinese and English. The default user name is admin and its password is Changeme123.

  3. Click Log In.
  4. Click Browse in the Read License dialog box.
  5. Select the obtained license file in the Choose file dialog box. Then click Open.

    For details on how to obtain a license file, see Licence User Guide.

  6. The system prompts that Initial login. Please change your password. in the dialog box. Enter a new password and confirm it. Then click OK.

    Requirements on the password of user are as follows:

    • The password cannot be empty.
    • The password contains at least eight characters.
    • The password cannot be any account of the operating system, user name of the database, or their reverse.
    • The password cannot be the same as the password of the operating system user or the database user.
    • The password contains at least two of the following four types of characters: letters in upper case, letters in lowercase, digits, and special characters (~!@#$%^&*()-_=+\|[{}];:'",<.>/? or spaces).
    • You are advised to change the password per three months to ensure its security.

  7. Click OK in the Succeeded dialog box.
  8. Choose System > System Management > Host Management and click corresponding to the analyzer host to change the IP address to the new management IP address.
  9. For distributed deployment, click Create on the host management page to create a collector host. For centralized deployment, skip this step.
