NOTICE:

Before connecting to an external USB device, check that the USB device operates properly. eLog server may fail if it is connected to an abnormal USB device.

The USB 3.0 is disabled by default. You can enable it in the BIOS. When you use the VMware OS, do not enable the USB 3.0. Otherwise, the keyboard and mouse are unavailable.

iBMC management network port

The port is used to log in to the iBMC.

The port is used as the system serial port by default. You can set it to the iBMC serial port by using the iBMC command. The port is used for debugging.

Web access port and service port

  • For the analyzer, the web access port is used to provide web services and for users to access the eLog, and the service port is used for service communications with other components, such as the collector. The web access port and service port can be the same port ETH0. If the log source and collector reside on different subnets, however, they can be two different ports ETH0 and ETH1.
  • For the collector, ETH0 serves as the service port for exchanging information with the analyzer and collecting logs reported by the log source.
  • In a centralized scenario, the web access port is used to provide web services and for users to access the eLog, and the service port is used to collect logs reported by the log source. The web access port and service port can be the same port ETH0. If the log source and collector reside on different subnets, however, they can be two different ports ETH0 and ETH1.
    NOTICE:

    In an HA scenario, ETH0 is unavailable, and the web access port and service port are numbered from ETH1.
