Uninstalling the Log Collector

Uninstalling the Log Collector

This section describes how to uninstall the software of the log collector.

Prerequisites

If you performed security hardening, the root remote connection is disabled when the firewall starts. To uninstall the eLog, you can only use the root account to log in to the server through the iBMC interface or enable the root remote connection and close the firewall. For details, see How to Enable or Disable Root Remote Connection and Adding Exceptions on the Firewall.

Procedure

  1. Use the root account to log in to the operating system.
  2. (Optional) If the operating system had been hardened, the desktop environment won't start when the operating system startup. Run the init 5 command to start the desktop environment immediately.
  3. Right-click the desktop to open the terminal.
  4. Run the cd collector installation directory/uninstall command to open the directory that houses the uninstall.sh file. The default path is "opt/huawei/LogCenter/engineering/tools".
  5. Run the uninstallation script ./uninstall.sh. The uninstallation is successfully completed until the "complete" appears.
  6. If you do not want to retain historical data, run rm -rf file command to manually delete the installation directory, such as /opt/huawei/LogCenter.

Follow-Up Procedure

If the uninstallation fails or is interrupted because of an anomaly, perform subsequent operations by referring to Handling Anomalies During Uninstallation.
