Verifying the Installation

This section describes the procedure for checking whether the log collector is correctly installed and functions properly after the installation of the log collector is complete.

Procedure

  1. Use the root account to log in to the operating system.
  2. Right-click the desktop to open the terminal.
  3. Check whether the legoPlatInstalled.xml file is generated.

    1. Run the cd /opt/huawei/LogCenter command to access the root installation directory of the eLog.
    2. Run the ls command to list the files in this directory. Check whether the legoPlatInstalled.xml file exists.

  4. Use the check_running.sh tool to view enabled services.

    1. Run the su omm command to switch to the omm user.
    2. Run the cd /opt/huawei/LogCenter/engineering/tools command to access the collector directory.
    3. Run the ./check_running.sh command to view running services.

      The collector, and webservice services are required on the collector.

      If any of the preceding services is not running, run the ./shutdown.sh command to shutdown the eLog collector and then run the ./startup.sh command in the collector directory to restart the eLog collector.
