Starting the Log Collector

The collector service automatically starts after the collector is installed. In special scenarios, you may need to manually start the collector service. In this case, refer to this section.


  1. Use the omm account to log in to the operating system.

    When you log in to the operating system as the omm user for the first time, you need to change the password. For details, see How to Change the Password of the omm User.

  2. Right-click the desktop to open the terminal.
  3. Run the cd software installation directory/engineering/tools to open the directory that houses the startup file.

    The default installation path is /opt/huawei/LogCenter.

  4. Run the ./ command to start the eLog.
  5. The eLog starts properly if the following information is displayed.

    Info: All service start up success.
