Changing the IP Address of the Analyzer or Collector

Changing the IP Address of the Analyzer or Collector

You need to change the IP address during the pre-installation based on the actual networking and IP address planning.

Prerequisites

  • Before changing the IP address of the analyzer or collector, you must stop the analyzer or collector. For details, see Stopping the Analyzer or Collector.
  • The server on which security hardening is performed before delivery has the remote root connection function disabled. Therefore, the connection must be through the iBMC port or the mouse and keyboard. According to live network requirements, you can enable the remote root connection function as described in How to Enable or Disable Root Remote Connection. However, enabling this function may cause security risks. After completing installation operations, disable this function immediately.

Changing the Analyzer's IP Address

  1. Log in to the analyzer server as the root user.
  2. Right-click the desktop and choose Open in Terminal from the shortcut menu to access the CLI.
  3. Run the cd software-installation-path/engineering/tools command to access the directory.

    The default directory is /opt/huawei/LogCenter/engineering/tools.

  4. Run the ./changehostname.sh command to change the host name.

The configuration takes effect immediately, not requiring the server be restarted.

    LogServer:/opt/huawei/LogCenter/engineering/tools # .changehostname.sh
    Please input hostname: LogAnalysis
Do you want change the hostname to LogAnalysis (y/n)y
Do you want rename the hostname of net device?(y/n)y

REDIRECT udp -- anywhere anywhere udp dpt:syslog redir ports 32224
    kernel.hostname = LogAnalysis

  5. Run the ./config_network.sh command to configure the default gateway as prompted.

The configuration takes effect immediately, not requiring the server be restarted.

    LogServer:/opt/huawei/LogCenter/engineering/tools # ./config_network.sh
