Configuring the Multi-path Software

This section describes how to configure the multi-path software.

UltraPath V100R008C50SPC500 is used as an example. The configuration slightly varies with versions. For details, see the version-specific user guide.

Procedure

  1. Right-click the desktop to open the terminal.
  2. Run the upadmin check status command to check the UltraPath configuration. The system automatically performs the check based on the interface type set during installation. If the result is "Pass", the configuration is correct.

  3. Run the upadm show path command to check the path information about the disk array to be configured. In this example, two paths are connected.

  4. Run the upadm show option command to view default parameter values.

  5. Run the upadm set lbcontroller=on command to change the lbcontroller value to on to enable the controller load balancing function. Run the upadm start updateimage command to update the system configuration. Run the upadm show option command to check whether lbcontroller is set to on.

    Linux-208:~/Desktop # upadm start updateimage

  6. Run the upadm start hotscan command to scan disks.

  7. Run the fdisk -l command to check whether the system disk information (including local disks and the disk array) is correct.

    Before installing and configuring the UltraPath software, run the fdisk -l command to view the disks with the same information. For example, if only a 5 TB LUN is mounted, you can see two 5 TB disks on the server. After the UltraPath software is installed and configured, only one 5 TB disk is left, consistent with the actual mounting situation.
