Adding a Service

Adding a Service

Scenarios

This section describes how to add a service after installing a cluster or reinstall a service after deleting it from FusionInsight Manager.

NOTE:

If you use Internet Explorer 11 to perform such operations, the WebUI may be incompletely displayed. You are advised to use Google Chrome 21 or later.

Prerequisites

The default SSH port No. (22) is used for each node in the cluster. Otherwise, the task in this section will fail.

Procedure

  1. Log in to FusionInsight Manager.
  2. Choose Cluster > Service.
  3. In the upper left corner of the service management page, click Add Service, select Only Add Services, and click Next.
  4. Select the services to be installed in sequence and click Next.
  5. Set the service name. In the multi-service scenario, Service Name is used to differentiate service instances of the same service. Click Next.

    NOTE:

Enter 1 to 24 characters, containing only digits, letters, underlines (_), and hypens (-). The service name cannot be set to the reserved name, including all component names and names in the format of component name-digit. It can be the same as the service internal name. (The service internal name is the default name. Exercise cautions when modifying it.) The service name is case-insensitive and cannot be the same as the displayed names of other services.

    • If the service to be installed depends on and is associated with another service that has multiple service instances, you need to specify the service instance on which the service to be installed uniquely depends and the instance that the service is associated with. Then, go to Step 6.
    • If the service to be installed does not depend on or is not associated with any another service, or the service to be associated with is unique, skip Step 6 and go to Step 7.

  6. Specify the dependent and associated services. In the multi-service scenario, if a new service depends on or is associated with a service that has multiple service instances, you need to specify the service instance on which the service to be installed uniquely depends and the instance that the service is uniquely associated with.

    • Dependent services: Underlying service that a service strongly depends on.
    • Associated services: Underlying service that a service weekly depends on.

  7. Assign roles. Deploy the topology of each role instance by referring to section in Software Installation > Introduction to Installation > Scheme Introduction > Installation Scheme. After the selection is complete, click Next.

    NOTE:

In the multi-service scenario, different service instances of the same service cannot be deployed on the same node.

  8. Configure the cluster.

Configure role-related parameters and click Next.

    NOTE:

When adding a service, you must change the parameter values to the actual ones. Otherwise, the service is unavailable.

    • Change the directories where DataNode and NameNode are stored when HDFS is deployed. Otherwise, disk usage will be too high to support normal service running. DataNode is stored in dfs.datanode.data.dir, and NameNode is stored in dfs.namenode.name.dir.
    • When deploying Hue, set the Hue parameter HUE_FLOAT_IP. Otherwise, the installation fails, affecting service running.
    • When deploying DBService, set the dbservice.floatip and dbservice.mediator.ip parameters. Otherwise, the installation fails, affecting service running.
    • When deploying a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) server, configure parameters on the instance configuration page of the FTP server as required.
    • When deploying YARN, configure the local NodeManager storage directory yarn.nodemanager.local-dirs and log directory yarn.nodemanager.local-dirs on each node based on the disk partition plan.

  9. Click Submit to execute the task. After the operation is complete, click Finish.
