FusionInsight Manager Introduction

Overview

FusionInsight manages and analyzes massive data and helps you rapidly obtain desired data from structured and unstructured data. The structure of open-source components is complex. The installation, configuration, and management processes are time- and labor-consuming. Huawei FusionInsight Manager is a unified enterprise-level cluster management platform and provides the following functions:

  • Cluster monitoring: allows you to better understand status of hosts and services.
  • Graphical indicator monitoring and customization: allow you to obtain key system information in a timely manner.
  • Service property configuration: allows you to configure service properties based on the performance requirements of your services.
  • Cluster, service, and role instance operations: allow you to start or stop services and clusters with just a few clicks.
  • Permission management and audit: allow you to configure the access control and manage operation logs.

Supported Browsers

  • Supports Google Chrome.

    Windows OS: The Google Chrome 48 and later versions are supported. You are advised to use the latest version of Chrome.

  • Internet Explorer 9 Standards Mode or later is supported. You are advised to use Internet Explorer 11.
    NOTE:
    • If Solr is required, use Internet Explorer 10 or later.
    • If Hue is required, Internet Explorer may be incompatible with some content.
    • If Loader is required, Internet Explorer is not supported.
    • If HDFS is required, use Internet Explorer 11 or later.
    • If Metadata is required, use Internet Explorer 11 or later.
  • Supports Microsoft Edge 13.
  • Supported Mozilla Firefox versions:

    Windows: 43.x/50.x/58.x and later

    NOTE:

    If Hue is required, Mozilla Firefox may be incompatible with some content.

    • Linux:

      Firefox built-in CentOS 7.

      Firefox 17.0.4 provided by SUSE 11.3. The browser version is low. The layout of some pages is in disorder. You are advised to upgrade the browser to the latest version.

      NOTE:

      Hue does not support the browser of this version.

    NOTE:

    For Mozilla Firefox, you need to perform the following operations to ensure the This web page is being redirected to a new location. Would you like to resend the form data you have typed to the new location? dialog box is not prompted:

    1. Enter about:config in the address box, and press Enter. The configuration page is displayed.
    2. Search network.http.prompt-temp-redirect, and double-click the parameter to set it to false.

Logging In to FusionInsight Manager

Enter the following URL in the browser address box:

http://Floating IP address of FusionInsight Manager WebService:8080/web or https://Floating IP address of FusionInsight Manager WebService:28443/web

For example, if the floating IP address is 10.52.0.252, enter http://10.52.0.252:8080/web or https://10.52.0.252:28443/web.

Introduction to the FusionInsight Manager GUI

FusionInsight Manager provides a unified cluster management platform, facilitating rapid and easy O&M for clusters.

The upper part of the page is the operation bar, the middle part is the display area, and the bottom part is the taskbar.

  • Table 1-1 describes the functions of each portal on the operation bar.

    Portal

    Function Description

    Homepage

    Shows the key monitoring indicators and statuses of services and the host statuses in column charts, line charts, and tables. You can customize a dashboard for the key monitoring indicators and drag it onto any position on the visualized interface layout. The system overview page supports automatic data update.

    Cluster

    Provides the service monitoring, operation, and configuration guidance, which helps you manage services in a unified manner. For details, see Cluster - Service Management.

    Host

    Provides the host monitoring and operation guidance to help you manage hosts in a unified manner. For details, see Host.

    O&M

    Allows you to query and handle alarms, and helps you identify product faults and potential risks in a timely manner, ensuring proper system running. For details, see O&M.

    Audit

    Allows you to query and export audit logs, and view all user activities and operations. For details, see Audit.

    Tenant Resources

    Provides a unified tenant management platform. For details, see Tenant Resources.

    System

    Provides FusionInsight Manager system configuration and management functions, such as user permission configuration and backup management. For details, see System Configuration.

    On the right of the operation bar, you can view the number of alarms of different severities, number of running tasks, current users, and help information, as shown in Figure 1-2.

  • The display area is the main interface of each functional module of FusionInsight Manager.
  • The taskbar displays the language options of FusionInsight Manager and the current cluster time and time zone settings.
