Disabling HTTP Port 8080

Disabling HTTP Port 8080

The HTTP protocol interface is reserved in Tomcat to facilitate access. If a user accesses FusionInsight Manager using an HTTP network address, the user is redirected to the HTTPS network address. To disable the HTTP network address, perform the following operation.

Impact on the System

During the operation, Tomcat on the active management node needs to be restarted. During the restart, FusionInsight Manager is temporarily interrupted. You do not need to restart Tomcat on the standby management node.

Prepare a valid storage location for backing up related files for restoring the HTTP configuration.

  1. Use PuTTY to log in to the active management node using the active management IP address as user omm.
  2. Run the following command to go to the related directory:

    cd ${BIGDATA_HOME}/om-server/tomcat/conf

  3. Back up the Tomcat configuration file server.xml, run the following command to modify the Tomcat configuration file as prompted, and save the file and exit. The configuration file will be automatically synchronized to the standby management node.

    vi server.xml

    Delete the following configuration items from the configuration file:

    <Connector port="8080" address=""
    protocol="HTTP/1.1" connectionTimeout="20000" redirectPort="28443" sslProtocol="TLS"
    sslEnabledProtocols="xxxxxx" xpoweredBy="false"
    server="FusionInsight" maxHttpHeaderSize="8192" maxPostSize="10240"/>

  4. Run the following command to configure permissions for the server.xml file:

    chown omm:wheel server.xml

    chmod 600 server.xml

  5. Run the following command to go to the related directory:

    cd ${BIGDATA_HOME}/om-server/tomcat/bin

  6. Run the following command to stop Tomcat:

  7. Run the following command to start Tomcat:

    The command is run successfully if the following information is displayed. Tomcat automatically performs initialization after startup.

    Tomcat started.

  8. After the HTTP network address is disabled, you need to use the complete https address https://WebService floating IP address of FusionInsight Manager system:28443/web to log in to FusionInsight Manager.

    To enable HTTP port 8080, use the file backed up in Step 3 to restore the HTTP configuration so that http://WebService floating IP address of FusionInsight Manager system:8080/web can be used to log in FusionInsight Manager. Other steps are the same as those for disabling HTTP port 8080.
