Service Authentication in a Cluster

In a FusionInsight cluster that uses the security mode, the mutual access between any services is based on the Kerberos security architecture scheme. When a service (such as HDFS) in the cluster is to be started, the service obtains the corresponding sessionkey (keytab, which is used for application authentication) from Kerberos. When another service (such as YARN) needs to access HDFS and perform data add, delete, modify, and query operations in HDFS, the service must obtain the corresponding TGT and ST for authentication of the secure access.

Application Development Authentication

FusionInsight components provide application development interfaces for customers or upper-layer service products. During application development, a cluster in security mode provides specified application development authentication interfaces to implement application security authentication and access. For example, the hadoop-common API provides the UserGroupInformation class and this class provides multiple security authentication APIs.

  • setConfiguration() is mainly used to obtain related configuration and set parameters such as global variables.
  • loginUserFromKeytab() is mainly used to obtain TGT interfaces.

Cross-Cluster Mutual Trust Feature

FusionInsight provides the mutual trust function between two clusters to implement data read and write operations between clusters.
