Configuring the Software Package

Scenario

This section uses the x86 server and Red Hat OS as an example to describe how to configure the software package. Upload the obtained FusionInsight HD software package to specified nodes.

NOTE:
  • If you cannot get root user rights, you can install the cluster as user omm, see Step 11 to Step 13 to generate user omm first and assign rights to user omm.
  • This section uses the x86 server and Red Hat OS as an example to describe how to configure the software package. For the CentOS, NeoKylin or Oracle Linux, refer to commands of the corresponding Red Hat version. For example, if the CentOS 7.4 is used, refer to the Red Hat 7.4. For the EulerOS, refer to commands of the Red Hat 7.x.
  • This section describes how to install the Manager, HD, Porter, Spark2x, Elasticsearch, Flink, GraphBase and Elk components at a time. If you want to install other component packages, such as DLF, Pollux, follow the instructions in the Porter package installation section. Users also can install the unused component packages on the existing Manager cluster. For details, see Installing Packs in the Current Cluster.
  • For details about how to operate Elk component, see the product documentation of the component. You can obtain the documentation as follows:
    • For enterprise users, log in to http://support.huawei.com/enterprise/ using their accounts and search for the product documentation, for example, FusionInsight HD 6.5.0 Product Documentation (Including Elk).
    • For carrier users, log in to http://support.huawei.com using their accounts and search for the product documentation, for example, FusionInsight HD 6.5.0 Product Documentation (Including Elk).

Prerequisites

  • The required software package has been downloaded to a local directory based on Preparing Tools and Software.
  • The image of the OS installed on the node has been downloaded to a local computer.

Procedure

  1. Prepare the software package.

    Save the FusionInsight HD software package that you have obtained. The following lists the files:

    • FusionInsight_Manager_6.5.0_RHEL.tar.gz
    • FusionInsight_HD_6.5.0_RHEL.tar.gz
    • FusionInsight_Porter_6.5.0_RHEL.tar.gz
    • FusionInsight_Spark2x_6.5.0_RHEL.tar.gz
    • FusionInsight_Flink_6.5.0_RHEL.tar.gz
    • FusionInsight_Elasticsearch_6.5.0_RHEL.tar.gz
    • FusionInsight_GraphBase_6.5.0_RHEL.tar.gz
    • FusionInsight_Elk_6.5.0_RHEL.tar.gz
    • FusionInsight_SetupTool_6.5.0.tar.gz
    • FusionInsight_HD_6.5.0.x_RHEL.tar.gz
      NOTE:

      This software package is required for the silent patch. You do not need to upload the patch package if the silent patch is not installed.

  2. Upload the software package.

    1. Use WinSCP to log in to the server where Manager is to be installed as user root.
    2. Select the above files and move them to the /opt directory on the current node. Wait until all files are successfully uploaded.

  3. Decompress the software package.

    1. Use PuTTY to log in to the server where Manager is to be installed as user root.
    2. Run the following command to go to the /opt directory:

      cd /opt

    3. Run the following command to decompress the Manager component package:

      tar -zxvf FusionInsight_Manager_6.5.0_RHEL.tar.gz

      tar -zxvf FusionInsight_SetupTool_6.5.0.tar.gz

    4. Run the following command to copy the HD, Porter, Flink, Spark2x, GraphBase and Elk component packages to the /opt/FusionInsight_Manager/software/packs path (if you want to install DLF together with the component, copy their software packages at the same time):

      cp FusionInsight_HD_6.5.0_RHEL.tar.gz FusionInsight_Porter_6.5.0_RHEL.tar.gz FusionInsight_Flink_6.5.0_RHEL.tar.gz FusionInsight_Elasticsearch_6.5.0_RHEL.tar.gz FusionInsight_Spark2x_6.5.0_RHEL.tar.gz FusionInsight_GraphBase_6.5.0_RHEL.tar.gz FusionInsight_Elk_6.5.0_RHEL.tar.gz FusionInsight_Manager/software/packs/

      NOTE:

      If both x86 and ARM clusters are installed, nodes in the same batch can only be installed on servers of the same architecture, x86 or ARM, and only component packages of the same architecture can be automatically registered. To register for component packages of another architecture, install the active and standby OMSs and then register for component packages of another architecture. For details, see Installing Packs in the Current Cluster.

  4. (Optional) Decompress the silent patch software package.

    1. Run the following command to create the installation directory:

      mkdir /opt/FusionInsight_Manager/software/patch

    2. Run the following command to go to the /opt directory:

      cd /opt

    3. Run the following command to copy the patch component package to the /opt/FusionInsight_Manager/software/patch directory:

      cp FusionInsight_HD_6.5.0.x_RHEL.tar.gz FusionInsight_Manager/software/patch/

  5. (Optional) Replace the HA certificate.

    NOTE:

    By default, it is not recommended to replace the HA certificate.

    On FusionInsight HD, the HA certificate can be replaced during installation. If a user has a customized HA root certificate, the user needs to perform the following operations to add the certificate after decompressing the software package on the management nodes:
    1. Go to the /opt/FusionInsight_Manager/software/hasslCert directory.

      cd /opt/FusionInsight_Manager/software/hasslCert

    2. Prepare the root certificate, and place the root-ca.crt root file and the root-ca.pem key file in the /opt/FusionInsight_Manager/software/hasslCert directory.

      Files related to the root certificate need to be provided by the enterprise user. The files can also be generated on the existing FusionInsight HD cluster. For details about how to generate a root certificate, see section "Replacing the HA Certificate" in the Administrator Guide.

    3. Set password (empty by default) in the /opt/FusionInsight_Manager/software/hasslCert/hasslCert.ini file to the plaintext password of the root certificate generated.

      For example, set password to Huawei_123. After the cluster is installed, the plaintext password will be deleted.

    4. Perform the subsequent installation operations.

  6. If Manager is installed in active/standby mode, log in to the standby management node as user root, and perform Step 2 to Step 5.
  7. Mount the OS image. During Configuring and Checking the Installation Environment, the RPM package that is absent from the OS is automatically installed.

    1. Use WinSCP to copy the ISO file to a directory on the active management node, for example /opt.
    2. Use PuTTY to log in to the active management node as user root, run the following mounting command:

      mount Name of the virtual CD-ROM drive /media/ -o loop

      For example, in a Red Hat OS, if the virtual CD-ROM file is in the /opt directory, run the mount /opt/rhel-server-6.4-x86_64-dvd.iso /media/ -o loop command.

      NOTE:

      By default, the /media directory does not exist in SUSE 12.X. Therefore, run mkdir /media to create the directory first.

  8. Check whether the OS encoding format meets the requirements.

    NOTE:

    If you cannot obtain permissions of user root, install the cluster as user omm.

    Use PuTTY to log in to any node as user root. Run the locale command to check whether the OS encoding format is en_US.UTF-8 or POSIX.

  9. Use PuTTY to log in to each node as user root one by one to change the OS encoding format. For example, to change the OS encoding format to en_US.UTF-8, you need to perform the following operations.

    • If a RedHat/CentOS 6.X Linux OS is used, run the vi /etc/sysconfig/i18n command. Press Insert to enter the edit mode, set LANG to en_US.UTF-8 and SYSFONT to latarcyrheb-sun16. Then press Esc and enter :wq to save the modification and exit the vi editor. Restart the OS for the settings to take effect.
    • If a RedHat/CentOS 7.X or Euler Linux OS is used, run the vi /etc/locale.conf command and set LANG to en_US.UTF-8 and SYSFONT to latarcyrheb-sun16. Save the configuration and exit. Restart the OS for the settings to take effect.
    • If a SUSE Linux OS is used, run the vi /etc/sysconfig/language command and set RC_LANG to en_US.UTF-8. Save the configuration and exit. Restart the OS for the settings to take effect.

  10. Determine whether to install the cluster as user omm.

    NOTE:

    If you fail to obtain permissions of user root, install the cluster as user omm.

    • If yes, go to Step 11.
    • If no, no further action is required.

  11. Use PuTTY to log in to the active management node as user root.
  12. Copy the /opt/FusionInsight_SetupTool/preset folder in the active management node to the /opt directory on all nodes, and run the sh /opt/preset/preset.sh command on all nodes.

    You can use the script tool in the software package to run a command or access a file on multiple nodes in a cluster. For details, see How to Run Commands or Access Files on Multiple Nodes in a Cluster.

  13. Perform the following operations as user root on active and standby management nodes:

    1. Set the owner of the /opt/FusionInsight_Manager/ directory generated after the software package is decompressed:

      chown omm: /opt/FusionInsight_Manager/ -R.

    2. Set the owner of the /opt/FusionInsight_SetupTool directory generated after the software package is decompressed:

      chown omm: /opt/FusionInsight_SetupTool/ -R.
