Loading a License File

Loading a License File

Scenario

Load the license file to FusionInsight Manager to authorize the system to provide the licensed services in the permitted period.

After the software is installed, apply for and load the license in a timely manner. FusionInsight HD also provides a free trial version. Users can use the free trial version for 90 days. Table 3-4 descirbes forbidden operations when the trial edition expires. .

NOTE:
  • The FusionInsight HD free version is for trial use only. If you want to have more services and commercial insurance, purchase the FusionInsight HD commercial version.
  • The FusionInsight HD free version cannot run in a production environment or commercial environment.
  • FusionInsight HD products are licensed by host HCore. For x86 servers, one physical CPU core equals to one HCore. For ARM servers, two physical CPU cores equal to one HCore. HCores of OMS management nodes in clusters are not counted.
  • Clusters with 160 HCores or less are not under license control, and all functions of FusionInsight Manager are available for the clusters.

Prerequisites

You have logged in to FusionInsight Manager.

Procedure

  1. Choose System > License.
  2. Apply for a license file using the ESN on the portal. For details, see the FusionInsight HD 6.5.0 License Guide.

    Copy the license file to the local PC.

  3. Click Import License. In Please select a license file, click to select the obtained license file, and click Upload. The imported license is unactivated, as shown in Figure 3-3.

  4. Click Activate to activate the license. After the license page is displayed next time, you can view the license details, as shown in Figure 3-4.

Reference

If the license has expired but is still in the grace period (within 60 days from the expiration date of the license), node capacity expansion on FusionInsight Manager cannot be performed.

If the License has expired and the grace period has passed, some Manager operations cannot be executed. For details, see Table 3-4.

NOTE:

Table 3-4 describes operations on the Service interface in the tile view mode.

Installation

Add a node.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager and click Host. On the displayed page, click Add.

Delete a node.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager and click Host. On the displayed page, select the check box of the host to be deleted, and choose More > Delete.

Forcibly delete a node.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager and click Host. On the displayed page, select the check box of the host to be deleted, and choose More > Forcibly Delete.

Reinstall a host.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager, click Host. On the displayed page, select the check box of the host to be reinstalled, and choose More > Reinstall.

Add a service.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager and choose Cluster > Service. On the displayed page, click Add Service.

Delete a service.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager, choose Cluster > Service. On the displayed Service page, click in the upper right corner of the page and choose Delete in the displayed shortcut menu.

Add an instance.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager, choose Cluster > Service and click any service. On the displayed page, click the Instance tab. On the Instance tab page, click Add.

Delete as instance.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager, choose Cluster > Service and click any service. On the displayed page, click the Instance tab. On the Instance tab page, select the specified instance, and choose More > Delete.

Create a cluster.

The cluster cannot be installed after the license expires.

Backup

Create a backup task.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager, choose O&M > Backup and Restore > Backup Management. On the displayed page, click Create.

Delete a backup task.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager and choose O&M > Backup and Restore > Backup Management. On the displayed page, locate the row that contains the backup task to be deleted and choose More > Delete in the Operation column.

Configure a backup task.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager, choose O&M > Backup and Restore > Backup Management. On the displayed page, locate the row that contains the backup task to be configured and click Config in the Operation column.

Start a backup task.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager and choose O&M > Backup and Restore > Backup Management. On the displayed page, locate the row that contains the backup task to be started and choose More > Back Up Now in the Operation column.

Stop a backup task.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager, choose O&M > Backup and Restore > Backup Management. On the displayed page, locate the row that contains the backup task to be stopped and choose More > Stop in the Operation column.

Suspend a backup task.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager, choose O&M > Backup and Restore > Backup Management. On the displayed page, locate the row that contains the backup task to be suspended and choose More > Suspend in the Operation column.

NOTE:

After clicking Resume, you can select Suspend.

Execute a backup task again.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager and choose O&M > Backup and Restore > Backup Management. On the displayed page, locate the row that contains the backup task to be re-executed and choose More > Resume in the Operation column.

NOTE:

After clicking Suspend, you can select Resume.

Restoration

Creating a backup restoration task.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager, choose O&M > Backup and Restore > Restoring Management. On the displayed page, click Create.

Delete a restoration task.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager, choose O&M > Backup and Restore > Restoring Management. On the displayed page, locate the row that contains the restoration task to be deleted and click Delete in the Operation column.

Start a restoration task.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager, choose O&M > Backup and Restore > Restoring Management. On the displayed page, locate the row that contains the restoration task to be executed and click Start in the Operation column.

Stop a restoration task.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager, choose O&M > Backup and Restore > Restoring Management. On the displayed page, locate the row that contains the restoration task to be stopped and choose More > Stop in the Operation column.

Retry a restoration task.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager, choose O&M > Backup and Restore > Restoring Management. On the displayed page, locate the row that contains the restoration task to be retried and click Retry in the Operation column.

O&M

Start a cluster.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager and choose Homepage > Start.

Stop a cluster.

Restart a cluster.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager, choose Cluster > Service, and click any service. On the displayed page, click the Instance tab, locate the row that contains a specified instance, and choose More > Stop.

Restart an instance.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager, choose Cluster > Service, and click any service. On the displayed page, click the Instance tab, locate the row that contains a specified instance, and choose More > Restart.

Recommission an instance.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager, choose Cluster > Service, and click HDFS or Yarn. On the displayed page, click the Instance tab, locate the row that contains a specified instance, and choose More > Recommission.

Decommission an instance.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager, choose Cluster > Service, and click HDFS or Yarn. On the displayed page, click the Instance tab, locate the row that contains a specified instance, and choose More > Decommission.

Enable all instances on a specified host.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager and choose Cluster > Host. On the displayed page, select the check box of the host on which all instances will be enabled, and choose More > Start All Instances.

Disable all instances on a specified host.

Log in to FusionInsight Manage and click Host. On the displayed page, select the check box of the host on which all instances will be disabled, and choose More > Stop All Roles.

Isolate a host.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager and click Host. On the displayed page, select the check box of the host to be isolated, and choose More > Isolate.

Cancel isolation of a host.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager and click Host. On the displayed page, select the check box of the host on which isolation will be canceled, and choose More > Cancel Isolation.

Refresh a queue.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager, choose Cluster > Service, and click Yarn. On the displayed page, choose More > Refresh Queue.

Perform active/standby switchover of role instances.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager, choose Cluster > Service, and click a specified service. On the displayed page, choose More > Perform Role Instance Switchover.

Cluster resources

Create an instance group.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager, choose Cluster > Service, and click any service. On the displayed page, click the Instance Groups tab, and click .

Modify an instance group.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager, choose Cluster > Service, and click any service. On the displayed page, click the Instance Groups tab, and click .

Delete an instance group.

Log in to FusionInsight Manager, choose Cluster > Service, and click any service. On the displayed page, click the Instance Groups tab, and click .
