Uninstalling a Cluster

Scenario

You need to uninstall the cluster if this version is not needed or the cluster installation fails.

Prerequisites

  • After the cluster is uninstalled, all data of the cluster will be lost. Back up the required data in advance.
  • Before uninstalling the cluster, ensure that the communication between hosts is normal and the hosts are running properly. Otherwise, the cluster cannot be uninstalled.
  • Obtained the password of the user (user root or user omm) who performs the uninstallation.

Procedure

  1. Determine whether to uninstall the cluster as user omm.

  2. Use PuTTY to log in to the active management node as user root, copy the preset folder in the /opt/FusionInsight_SetupTool/preset directory where the script installation tool package is decompressed to the /opt directory on all nodes. Run the sh /opt/preset/preset.sh command on all nodes.

    You can use the script tool in the software package to run a command or access a file on multiple nodes in a cluster. For details, see How to Run Commands or Access Files on Multiple Nodes in a Cluster.

  3. Log in to FusionInsight Manager using an administrator account.

    Enter the network address of FusionInsight Manager in the address box of the browser.

    The address format is http://WebService floating IP address of FusionInsight Manager system:8080/web.

  4. Click Homepage.
  5. Choose More > Uninstall.
  6. In the displayed dialog box, enter the password of the administrator user admin, and click OK.
  7. Select I confirm to uninstall the cluster and accept the consequence of data loss. and enter the password of user root (or user omm) of the node system. Click OK to uninstall the cluster.
  8. When all progresses reach 100%, click Finish. The cluster is uninstalled.

    NOTE:
    • If the cluster uninstallation fails, click Cluster > Host, select all the nodes, and choose More > Forcibly Delete to forcibly delete all the nodes.
    • If you uninstall a cluster as user omm, you are advised to log in to all non-management noedes as user root and run the userdel -rf omm command to delete the residual user information.
