Uninstalling a Pack

Uninstalling a Pack

Scenario

  • Uninstall a pack when the pack is no longer needed or when the software needs to be upgraded.
  • If the cluster with the management node deployed using the x86 (ARM) architecture and other nodes deployed using the ARM (x86) architecture does not require the client with the ARM (x86) architecture, you may need to uninstall the software package of the architecture that is not required.
NOTE:
  • This section describes how to uninstall Porter. For details about cluster uninstallation, see Uninstalling a Cluster. When a pack is uninstalled from a cluster deployed using both the x86 and ARM architectures, the pack of both of the two architectures are deleted at the same time.
  • This section uses a cluster deployed using both the x86 (used to deploy the management node) and ARM architectures as an example to describe how to uninstall the ARM pack. When a pack of an architecture is uninstalled, all packs of the architecture are deleted at a time.

Prerequisites

  • Services of the pack to be uninstalled, and upper-layer packs and services that depend on the pack have been deleted.
  • Before uninstalling the pack, ensure that the communication between hosts is in normal state and the hosts are running properly.

Procedure

Pack Uninstallation

  1. Use PuTTY to log in to the active management node as user omm.
  2. Run the following command to go to the ${BIGDATA_HOME}/om-server/om/sbin/pack directory:

    cd ${BIGDATA_HOME}/om-server/om/sbin/pack

  3. Run the following command to uninstall Porter:

    ./unregister_pack.sh pack name

    NOTE:
    • Run the following script to uninstall Porter. During the uninstallation, the OMS will be restarted and users cannot log in to FusionInsight Manager.
    • You can run the following command to check the pack name (the name of the x86 cluster pack is the same as that of the ARM cluster pack):

      ${BIGDATA_HOME}/om-server/om/sbin/pack/queryPack.sh

    ./unregister_pack.sh FusionInsight_Porter_6.5.0

    Start to uninstall the pack.
    The pack is uninstalled suceessfully.
    Restarting the OMS server...

Uninstall a pack in the cluster deployed using both the x86 and ARM architectures.

  1. Use PuTTY to log in to the active management node as the omm user.
  2. Run the following command to go to the ${BIGDATA_HOME}/om-server/om/sbin/pack directory:

    cd ${BIGDATA_HOME}/om-server/om/sbin/pack

  3. Run the following command to uninstall the pack:

    ./unregister_pack.sh -p platform type

For example, uninstall the ARM platform software package.

    ./unregister_pack.sh -p aarch64

    NOTE:

    Platform type:

    • x86 platform: x86_64
    • ARM platform: aarch64

(Optional) Uninstall the silent patch.

  1. Use PuTTY to log in to the active management node as user omm.
  2. Run the following command to go to the ${BIGDATA_HOME}/om-server/om/sbin/pack directory:

  3. Run the following command to uninstall the component:
