Re-Uninstalling a Component That Was Improperly Uninstalled Fails

When a user uninstalls an unnecessary component, the uninstallation is interrupted or improperly completed due to misoperations. The following information is displayed when the user re-uninstalls the component:

Failed to uninstall the pack. Error message : There is no activated pack named Porter.
For details about the error, see the log file /var/log/Bigdata/controller/controller.log.

When the user runs the ${BIGDATA_HOME}/om-server/om/sbin/pack/ script to view the software version information on the management node as user omm, the component version information is also displayed.

Possible Causes

When the component is uninstalled for the first time, FusionInsight Manager has not been restarted and related component files may not be cleaned up. Therefore, the residual component files may need to be manually cleaned up.

  1. Use PuTTY to log in to the active management node as user omm.
  2. Run the following command to clean up the residual component files:

sh ${BIGDATA_HOME}/om-server/om/sbin/pack/ Full name of the component

    For example, sh ${BIGDATA_HOME}/om-server/om/sbin/pack/ FusionInsight_Porter_6.5.0

  3. Log in to the standby management node as user omm and repeat Step 2.
  4. Log in to the active management node as user omm and run the following command to restart the OMS:

    sh ${BIGDATA_HOME}/om-server/om/sbin/

  5. After the OMS is restarted, run the following command:

    sh ${BIGDATA_HOME}/om-server/om/sbin/pack/

If the query result does not contain the component version information, the component is successfully uninstalled.
