This section provides configurations and suggestions on high reliability and high performance during FusionInsight HD cluster deployment.

Infrastructure

Uninterruptible power supply (UPS)

This parameter is used to ensure that the server continues to work for a period of time after a power failure, preventing data loss.

If this parameter is not configured, data may be lost upon power-off.

You are advised to configure this parameter.

Server Hardware Configuration

RAID controller card battery

This parameter is used to prevent the cache data of the RAID controller card from being lost due to abnormal power-off.

If this parameter is not configured, data may be lost upon power-off.

You are advised to configure this parameter.

RAID controller card write cache

After this parameter is specified, the data access rate increases.

You are advised to specify this parameter. For details, see the product documentation of the hardware device.

RAID 1

Disk data mirroring is used to implement data redundancy, preventing data loss and improving read performance.

If this parameter is not configured, data loss may occur.

You are advised to configure this parameter. For details, see Preparing Hardware.

Hard disk write cache

After this parameter is specified, the disk I/O efficiency and the data access rate are improved.

If there is an uninterrupted power supply, you are advised to enable it. If there is not, disable it.

BIOS Configuration

Virtualization

After the CPU virtualization technology is enabled, some CPU processing capabilities are occupied, which affects system performance.

Disable the CPU virtualization technology. For details, see the product documentation of the hardware device.

Energy saving in power management

When the energy-saving mode is enabled, the waiting time needs to be waken up, which affects the timeliness of data processing.

If the energy-saving mode is disabled, the energy consumption increases, but the data processing efficiency is improved.

Disable the energy-saving mode. For details, see the product documentation of the hardware device.

Support for hyper-threading

If this function is enabled, each physical processor core functions as two logical processor cores. If this function is disabled, each physical processor core functions as only one logical processor core.

Enabling this function increases the number of logical processor cores and improves system performance.

You are advised to specify this parameter. For details, see the product documentation of the hardware device.

SSD cache

Enabling this function increases the data access rate.

You are advised to specify this parameter. For details, see the product documentation of the hardware device.

Operating System

Swap Partition

After the swap partition is enabled, the interaction between the memory and the disk is slow, which affects the cluster performance.

This function is disabled by default in the preinstall process.
