Uninstalling the Manager


You need to uninstall the Manager if this version is not needed or the Manager installation fails.


If the software is installed in a specified directory, go to the specified directory to uninstall the software.


  • Before uninstalling the Manager, ensure Uninstalling a Cluster. Otherwise, the system cannot be upgraded and the next software installation will be affected.
  • Before uninstalling the Manager, ensure that the communication between hosts is normal and the hosts are running properly. Otherwise, the cluster cannot be uninstalled.
  • Obtained the password of the user (user root or user omm) who performs the uninstallation.


  1. Use PuTTY to log in to the standby management node as user root (or user omm).

    Log in to the servers where the Manager is deployed and run the command to find the active and standby management nodes. The server is the active management node if the parameter value of HAActive in the displayed information is active. For example, mgtomsdat-sh-3-01-1 displayed in the following information is the active management node:

  2. Go to the ${BIGDATA_HOME}/om-server/om/inst directory where the uninstallation script is stored.

    cd ${BIGDATA_HOME}/om-server/om/inst

  3. Run the following command to execute the script to uninstall the Manager:


  4. Enter y to confirm the uninstallation.
  5. Log in to the active management node and uninstall the Manager in the same way.
  6. Check whether the software is uninstalled by user omm.

    • If yes, go to Step 7.
    • If no, no further action is required.

  7. Run the sh /opt/preset/ command on all nodes.

    • The postset script is used to reclaim the cluster uninstallation permission of user omm. You can obtain the postset script from the FusionInsight_SetupTool/preset directory where the script installation tool package is decompressed.
    • After you uninstall the Manager as user omm, you are advised to log in to the active/standby management noedes as user root and run the userdel -rf omm command to delete the residual user information.
