(Optional) Enabling Access Control of 1588v2 Clock Sources

(Optional) Enabling Access Control of 1588v2 Clock Sources

Context

If a 1588v2 network is large, a large number of devices may participate in dynamic clock source selection. Malicious clock attacks or incorrect configurations will cause clock flapping over the 1588v2 network. You can enable access control of clock sources so that a 1588v2 switch selects a clock source within a specified range.

Perform the following steps on each 1588v2 device.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run ptp acl enable

Access control of clock sources is enabled.

By default, access control of clock sources is disabled.

  3. Run ptp acl-permit-clockid clockid-value

A clock ID is set for a 1588v2 device allowed to participate in local BMC calculation.

By default, after access control of clock sources is enabled, no clock source participates in clock source selection if no clock ID range is specified for clock sources allowed to participate in clock source selection.

  4. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.
