Disabling the Alarm Function for Optical Modules That Are Not Certified for Huawei Ethernet Switches

Disabling the Alarm Function for Optical Modules That Are Not Certified for Huawei Ethernet Switches

Context

If optical modules that are not certified for Huawei Ethernet switches are used on devices, the devices will generate a large number of alarms to prompt users to replace these optical modules with ones that are certified for Huawei Ethernet switches. This facilitates optical module management and maintenance. To avoid these alarms, disable the alarm function for optical modules that are not certified for Huawei Ethernet switches.

For GE and 10GE optical modules, Table 2-1 shows the policies in generating alarms about optical modules that are not certified for Huawei Ethernet switches.

Note:
  • In V100R005C00, 40GE and 100GE optical modules do not support Huawei Ethernet switch certification. After a switch has V100R005SPH007 or a later patch loaded, 40GE and 100GE optical modules support Huawei Ethernet switch certification

Procedure

  1. (Optional) Run the display interface [ interface-type interface-number | slot slot-id ] transceiver [ verbose ] command to check optical module information on a specified interface.
  2. (Optional) Run the display interface transceiver non-certified [ verbose ] command to check information about optical modules that are not certified for Huawei Ethernet switches.
  3. Run the system-view command to enter the system view.
  4. Run the transceiver non-certified-alarm disable command to disable the alarm function for optical modules that are not certified for Huawei Ethernet switches.

By default, the alarm function is enabled for optical modules that are not certified for Huawei Ethernet switches.

  5. Run the commit command to commit the configuration.
