Configuring the HiGig-Trunk Load Balancing Mode for LPUs/SFUs

Context

On the CE12800E that has FD-X series cards installed, LPUs and SFUs are connected through HiGig-Trunk links. To load balance packets, you need to configure the HiGig-Trunk load balancing mode for LPUs/SFUs.

NOTE:
Only the CE12800E that has FD-X series cards installed supports this configuration.
  • Only the CE12808E that has FD-X series cards installed supports the configuration of the HiGig-Trunk load balancing mode for SFUs.
  • A HiGig-Trunk load balancing profile needs to be configured first only when the HiGig-Trunk load balancing mode is set to enhanced.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. (Optional) Configure a load balancing profile.
    1. (Optional) Run load-balance profile higig-trunk { forward-engine | fabric-engine } profile-name

      A HiGig-Trunk load balancing profile is created for LPUs/SFUs, and the profile view is displayed.

      By default, the HiGig-Trunk load balancing profile of LPUs/SFUs is named default.

      You can configure load balancing modes for Layer 2 packets, IPv4 packets, and IPv6 packets separately. Run one, multiple, or none of the following commands as required:

      • Run the l2 { src-mac | dst-mac | eth-type } * command to configure the load balancing mode for Layer 2 packets (not IP packets) in the HiGig-Trunk load balancing profile of a specified SFU.

        By default, Layer 2 packets (not IP packets) are load balanced based on src-mac and dst-mac.

      • Run the ip { src-ip | dst-ip | l4-src-port | l4-dst-port | protocol } * command to configure the load balancing mode for IPv4 packets in the HiGig-Trunk load balancing profile of a specified SFU.

        By default, IPv4 packets are load balanced based on src-ip, dst-ip, l4-src-port, and l4-dst-port.

      • Run the ipv6 { src-ip | dst-ip | protocol | l4-src-port | l4-dst-port } * command to configure the load balancing mode for IPv6 packets in the HiGig-Trunk load balancing profile of a specified SFU.

        By default, IPv6 packets are load balanced based on src-ip, dst-ip, l4-src-port, and l4-dst-port.

      • Run the higig-trunk { hash-mode hash-mode-id | universal-id universal-id | lbid-enable } * command to set the load balancing mode in the HiGig-Trunk load balancing profile of LPUs/SFUs.

        By default, the load balancing mode in the HiGig-Trunk load balancing profile of LPUs is hash-mode(1) and universal-id(1); the load balancing mode in the HiGig-Trunk load balancing profile of SFUs is hash-mode(7) and universal-id(1), and lbid-enable is not configured.

    2. Run quit

      The system view is returned.

  3. Run load-balance higig-trunk { forward-engine { src-mac | dst-mac | src-dst-mac | src-ip | dst-ip | src-dst-ip | enhanced profile profile-name } | fabric-engine { src-mac | dst-mac | src-dst-mac | src-ip | dst-ip | src-dst-ip | enhanced profile profile-name } }

    The HiGig-Trunk load balancing mode is configured for LPUs/SFUs.

    By default, the HiGig-Trunk load balancing mode of LPUs/SFUs is enhanced.

  4. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.
