Monitoring IPv6 Multicast Routing and Forwarding


During routine maintenance, run the following commands in any view to check the running status of the IPv6 multicast forwarding and routing tables.


  • Run the display multicast ipv6 boundary [ ipv6-group-address [ ipv6-group-mask-length ] ] [ interface interface-type interface-number ] command to check information about the IPv6 multicast boundary configured on an interface.
  • Run the display multicast ipv6 fib [ source ipv6-source-address | group ipv6-group-address | incoming-interface { interface-type interface-number | register } ] * command to check the IPv6 multicast forwarding table.
  • Run the display multicast ipv6 routing-table [ ipv6-source-address [ mask ipv6-source-mask-length ] | ipv6-group-address [ mask ipv6-group-mask-length ] | incoming-interface { interface-type interface-number | register } | outgoing-interface { { exclude | include | match } { interface-type interface-number | register | none } } ] * [ outgoing-interface-number [ number ] ] command to check the IPv6 multicast routing table.
  • Run the display multicast ipv6 rpf-info ipv6-source-address [ ipv6-group-address ] [ rpt | spt ] [ verbose ] command to check the Reverse Path Forwarding (RPF) route.
