Impact on the System

Check whether the optical module was delivered early by Huawei. If so, the system is not affected. If not, the optical module may work abnormally, causing service interruption.

Possible Causes

An optical module that is not certified for Huawei Ethernet switches was installed. Alarms may be generated because vendor information of Huawei early delivered optical modules is not recorded.

Procedure

  • If the optical module was delivered early by Huawei, run the transceiver non-certified-alarm disable command to disable the alarm function for optical modules that are not certified for Huawei Ethernet switches.

    NOTE:

In versions earlier than V200R001C00, after the alarm function is disabled, the generated alarms will not be automatically cleared. To clear these alarms, remove and then install the optical module.

  • If the optical module is not delivered by Huawei or not certified for Huawei Ethernet switches, replace it with one that is certified for Huawei Ethernet switches.
